While studying Psychology in university, Hilwa discovered behavioural psychology and behavioural therapy. Drawn by their potentialities, she decided that this was what she wanted to do: to use her knowledge to help people who needed help. Choosing Applied Behavioural Analysis as her speciality, Hilwa immediately found work as a behavioural therapist upon graduation. Her tenacity, natural compassion for people and desire to constantly understand more has led Hilwa to quickly become recognised as a therapist who is engaged and effective. Today, she is a case manager for Autism Step and continues to utilise her expertise to help the youth under her care as well as to train other therapists on the implementation and practice of ABA therapy.
