Serene is a practicing Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) accredited by Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc® (BACB®). She is working directly under a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) for AutismStep Singapore, implementing and applying Individualised Education Programs (IEP) and behaviour-analytic interventions (Applied Behaviour Analysis – ABA Therapy) for young children 0+ up to 15 years of age with a wide range of developmental needs.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood and also has a diploma in Child Psychology and Early Education with a specialisation in Early Intervention. Prior training in an Early Intervention Programme For Infants and Children (EIPIC) centre along with working in different childcare and preschools, and is currently collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in supporting Kindergarten and Primary school teachers in inclusive mainstream schools.
She is confident and keen to improve her techniques under the guidance of Behavioural Consultants and is personally experienced performing hands-on 1:1 therapy as well as school observation and shadowing services for young children with numerous difficulties such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech and Language Delays, various Intellectual Disabilities including Global Developmental Delay, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Attention Deficit Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Social Communication Disorder, other behavioural dysfunctions, as well as learning, developmental, emotional regulation, physical, cognitive, and speech deficits.
Serene is always passionate in supporting young children with special needs and is dedicated to being professional, punctual, and caring. Her interests lie in managing challenging behaviours and she puts in her all when working with children and their families to provide them with the skills to learn and grow.
