Gokilavani holds a degree in Childhood Studies & Guidance & Counselling and a Specialist Diploma in Psychology (Early Childhood).
She has been working with children and families since 2011 and she worked with neuro typical children before moving on to children with special needs from ages 3 to 13.
For Gokilavani, working with children with various needs is not only about scaffolding in different areas but it is about working along with the families as well which gives her a sense of fulfillment. She had personal experiences of parents not being able to cope with the stress of managing their child, being in denial or even financially strained. She truly understand the importance of Mental health and with her knowledge on counselling, she was able to give support not only for the children but the families as well. She believes that going the extra mile to work with the families always helps the children beyond the support that she can give the child.
