Afiq graduated with a degree in psychology and further per passion for the field of special needs by pursuing a diploma in Special Needs with NIE. Afiq has a very strong passion for supporting individuals with autism as well as their families. His undergraduate studies have provided him with a strong foundation of behavioural management strategies, human learning and behaviour, and psychological theories, which he has been able to apply through hands-on experiences in real life settings.
he started off his career working with children with special needs since 2020. He started off with working with children in Special School and later move on to working as a Special Educational Needs Officer in mainstream schools.
He is experienced with classroom behavioural management and also supported individualized learning. Through this experience, he learnt the importance of patience and structure when it comes to supporting these students. Afiq also believe that every child has the potential to succeed and grow, given the right environment and support. He supported a wide variety of students with autism. He will plan and conduct individualized intervention sessions for these children, focusing on their learning/behavioural needs. Learning and behavioural development and management strategies will be taught and implemented in their daily routine and life.
Two of his key strengths are patience and empathy. He believes these qualities allow me to build a trusting rapport and relationship with the individuals he work with. Being a patient individual, it will promote a safe and supportive environment for the child to be in, and this will help to promote learning and development.
