Nerissa graduated with a degree in psychology. Before she started university, she took 2 gap years to explore the working field. She had the opportunity to work at Pathlight School where she have learnt so much from the students there.
She then went on to work in a ABA centre. During the sessions, she would use the Discrete Teaching Trials (DTTs), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), and Antecedent-Behaviour-Consequence (ABCs) in a structured setting to teach students targeted skills.
Over the years of teaching children with Autism, it has further confirm where her passion stands. The simple joy and meaningful interactions are what strive her to be better for them. She believes that every individual with special needs is unique and extraordinary in their own ways. As therapists, Nerissa feels that she is one of the most important stepping stones to unleash their potentials.
