Speech Therapy
Sensory and learning style preferences can make communication difficult. Improve pronunciation, communication and social skills with our speech therapy sessions.

Hanen Programme
We utilise the Hanen Programme during our therapy sessions, a widely used technique to help speech issues for children with Autism.

Talk Tools
We use Talk Tools, a proven Oral Motor Placement Therapy to help strengthen key motor skills needed for articulation and expression.

Articulation Therapy
Articulation disorders involve consistent mispronunciations past a certain age. Articulation therapy refines speech clarity for better communication.

Autism Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What ages do you support?
We see toddlers to teens; the plan and goals are tailored after your consultation and baseline assessment.
Is therapy home-based? Can you work with schools?
Yes, most sessions are home-based to build skills where children use them daily. We can coordinate with teachers and provide school carry-over strategies.
What methods do you use?
We use parent-mediated strategies from the Hanen Programme and oral-motor support such as TalkTools when appropriate, alongside play-based activities focused on your child’s goals.
How long are sessions and how often should we book?
Typical speech sessions are about 60 minutes; frequency depends on goals and family schedule. Your clinician will recommend a plan after the consultation.
How will I know therapy is working?
You’ll see measurable targets (e.g., clearer sounds, longer phrases, more successful turn-taking). We review progress every 6–8 weeks and adjust goals as needed.
Do you coordinate with ABA-VB or School Shadowing?
Yes. When children have both, we align cues and targets so your child practises the same skills across therapies and settings.
Do you use picture cards or other communication tools?
When helpful, we introduce visual supports (e.g., picture cards) to reduce frustration and build independence, and we coach families to use them at home.
Can parents join sessions?
Parent involvement is encouraged—especially for Hanen routines—so you can support practice between sessions.
Is the “Try Online Test” a diagnostic?
No. It’s a quick self-check. Use it to start a conversation; a clinician will advise whether an assessment is appropriate.
Do you accept Baby Bonus (CDA)?
Yes—AutismSTEP is a Baby Bonus Approved Institution. We’ll guide you through using CDA for eligible payments.
What if my child is bilingual?
We’ll consider both languages in assessment and goal-setting, and prioritise functional communication for home and school.
How soon will we see changes?
Timelines vary by child and goals; many families notice early wins in specific skills within weeks when daily home practice is consistent.
