Stephanie graduated with a Master of Education in Special Education: Autism & Developmental Disabilities. She also hold a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and a degree in psychology. Stephanie is also a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA).
Stephanie started her career with children with Autism in Canada where she provide one to one therapy using procedures such as discrete trial training (DTT), incidental teaching, natural environment teaching (NET), and following behavioural protocols under supervision of 9 BCBAs. She was promoted to a Behaviour Consultant when she left Vancouver to be back to Singapore.
Stephanie is always up for a challenge and is determined to do the best she can at any task that is provided to her. Her upcoming goal is to be able to continue providing effective behavioural services to the families that she will potentially be serving but to also be able to disseminate the field of ABA in Singapore. Just like the the values at AutismSTEP, she believes that all children learn at different paces and that behavioural plans need to be individualized. Moreover, conducting behavioural therapy in the child’s home, which is the child’s most familiar environment, provides a higher likelihood that the skills and strategies that are being taught to the child, will be generalized.
