For Pavithra, her work with children with autism is driven by a strong desire to help these young people break out of society’s limiting stereotypes and to lead each child to realise their full potential. Hence, to her, the most rewarding aspects of her work is when she sees the young people in her care overcome their fears and break out of, what can sometimes be, self-inflicted seclusion. It is her determination and unwavering belief in the youth she works with that has led many a child diagnosed with autism to gain the confidence and skills needed to assimilate comfortably into mainstream society.
